14.04.2009. We welcome our new singer - audio available!

Finnish metal outfit NORTHER did not have to search long for a competent replacement for ex-vocalist Petri Lindroos, who had left the band recently due to his commitments to Ensiferum. NORTHER states:
'After a hard search for a new vocalist we are honoured to announce Aleksi Sihvonen as our new lead singer. He is a creative and diverse vocalist with loads of experience. He will surely add new input to the band with his talent and variable singing styles, and most importantly: his personality fits to the band perfectly.

Besides this we have recruited, our old friend, Daniel Freyberg as live guitarist to complete our team. We also want to thank all of you worldwide who applied for the new vocalist spot!

We hereby welcome our great new guys, Aleksi and Daniel, to the band and we will present you the fresh NORTHER line-up live soon!'

Aleksi Sihvonen adds:
'Sometimes life can take you places you would not even imagine going to. So, here I am and I am very grateful and humbly honoured to be part of the NORTHER family. I feel I have met the band I have always wanted to be in. Like every musician I want to make the very effort to improve my skills as much as possible and push myself to the limits and in NORTHER I feel that I am able to use my voice as full and diverse as I have always wanted to.

I am very excited on working on new material, practicing and playing shows everywhere possible!! See you all soon!!'

14.04.2009. Uusi laulaja & live-kitaristi

Melodisen metallin vientiairueen Northerin ja sen laulaja-kitaristi Petri Lindroosin teiden erkaannuttua bändi on kiinnittänyt mikin varteen Aleksi Sihvosen (Medicated, ex-Imperanon). Uusi laulaja sai koko Norther-porukan vakuuttumaan kyvyistään vokalistinäytteiden ja persoonansa ansiosta.

"Olemme viimein löytäneet joukkueeseemme puuttuvan palasen. Aleksi on juuri etsimämme oikeantyylinen, luova ja taidokas laulaja Northeriin, joka tulee tuomaan paljon uutta bändimme soundiin. Hän hallitsee eri laulutyylit ja lisäksi hän on loistava tyyppi. Kemiamme pelaavat täydellisesti!", kertoo yhtyeen puuhaherra ja basisti Jukka Koskinen.

Northerilla on myös ilo ilmoittaa, että se on napannut live-kitaristikseen Naildownista tutun Daniel Freybergin. Norther tulee palaamaan lauteille uudistuneena ja miehistöltään tuhdimpana kuin koskaan ennen - ja pelottavan täynnä energiaa!

12.03.2009. Norther looking for a new singer

Norther is now looking for a new full time singer. We are looking for a versatile, creative individual with high motivation and a preferable capability of singing in different styles. The person we are looking for must be at least 20 years of age and preferably live in Finland. Guitar playing skills are considered as an advantage but not necessary.

If you feel you might be the one, please download the following instrumental version of our song Frozen Angel. Return it to us with your own vocals recorded on top to singer@norther.net in MP3 format. You can download the song here, and the lyrics here. It is also possible to send a free-form audio or video sample of yourself.
